How to create a new article
1) Make sure you are logged in and please read our rules and guidelines.
2) Search contactencyclopedia first to make sure that there is not already an article on that subject.
3) Should the search engine have found no articles under the title you typed in, following text should appear:
There is no page titled "...". You can create this page.
4) Click on "create this page".
5) An editor comes up containing following text:

Replace this text with your articles text and fill in [[Category:Place]] [[Category:Author]] [[Category:Date]] [[Category:Theme]] [[Category:Content]] [[Category:Other]] |
6) First add the categories. To do so, replace the words "Place", "Author", "Date", etc. with terms of your choice. Delete the unused categories, or add more using copy and paste. Click here for a list of existing categories. Please use existing categories if possible.
7) Delete the sentence "Replace this text..." and fill in your text. the buttons of the editor offer functions such as text formatting, inserting tables and pictures, adding links, etc. If you want to insert a picture, you have to upload it onto the site first. To do this, click on "Upload file" in the toolbox on the left side of the screen.
8) You can click on "show preview" (under the editor) to have a look at what you have done. Once finished and satisfied with the result, "save page"
Advanced editing:
By clicking on the "Wikitext" button of the editor, you can turn it on and off.
- When on, you will get a simplified version of your document
- When off, you will get the source code of the text your are creating. This enables you to use functions that are not supported by the editor. You can find a list of all functions under: [Wikipedia]
How to edit existing articles
Every article has different tabs above it. The edit tab brings you to the editor that enables you to edit the article.
Before you edit articles, please read our rules and guidelines.
How to participate in discussions
Click on the "discussion" tab of the article you would like to discuss. The Tab is located on the upper edge of the article.
How to upload videos, fotos, etc.
Under the navigation menu, you will find the toolbox, with the option: Upload file. Click there and follow instructions.
